The Canon MX892 is a great all-in-one printer. It has many features, and the print quality is excellent. I like the automatic document feeder. It makes scanning and copying multi-page documents much more manageable. I had a Canon MP620B before this, and it was a pain to have to scan or copy materials one page at a time. A feature of this printer that the MX892 has, as well as a rear paper feed. This makes it easier to feed thicker paper such as card stock and envelopes. This is combined with a paper tray, giving you the best of both worlds. Something a bit annoying about the printer is that it often goes through a maintenance cycle before printing.
I think this is a print head cleaning cycle that ensures the print is clean, but it’s a bit annoying to have to sit back and wait a couple of minutes before starting. Once printing starts, it’s quick, but most of the time, you’ll have to wait for it to start. I have not tested the fax function, because I do not fax documents, but everything else works fine. The software is similar to what I had with the MP620B, so I am used to the interface and functions. This may seem like a lot of programs, but they don’t take up much space. Overall, I am thrilled with my purchase of this printer.
